- There were small quirks with how Syndication Links and Search Results were presented (since changed)
- I could not master my widgets, particularly the way it repeated some widgets at the bottom of the page, even after I had changed them in Appearance settings. (Since discovered to be unrelated to the theme)
- I was unable to get a child theme to work, even with the help of Chris Aldrich. (Zen has five stylesheets which not being included, however this still did not solve the problem.)
- I could not get the Notes post kind to work with Micro.Blog as I think a default heading was included within the RSS (again fixed since)

ZenPress – Pure Zen for WordPress
I recently started exploring David Shanske’s 2016 IndieWeb Theme for Read Write Collect. Before, I had been using Matthias Pfefferle’s Zen Press. I really like Zen for its looks and still may go back or use it for my main site. It has the feel of Medium without being in Medium. My concerns were:
Matthias, I have had a second go at getting a child theme developed by Chris Aldrich working again with no success. I added all the stylesheets, but there is still aspects of the parent theme that are not coming through. Have no idea what I am missing.

So I was surprised to learn that Aaron Davis was having difficulty implementing a ZenPress child theme
Surprised because I run fornacalia.com with a ZenPress child theme and cannot recall any difficulties in setting that up. I think there may have been some issues with capitalisation of various names, but beyond that, I’m at a loss. I’d love to help — but not sure how best to do that.
Maybe I should just share my child theme.

Thank you Jeremy for sharing your theme. I really don’t know what is going on with my Zen children. I still could not get things working with your child.

I thought that it might be some other plugin, but then why would the original theme work fine, but not the child? Mustified.
Inspired by Kicks Condor’s recent post about ‘black and white, with a little bit of blue’, I have returned to ZenPress. Although Independent Press played nicely, I really like the look and feel of ZenPress and although it still does not work well with Jetpack’s Related Posts, my answer short term answer is to turn the function off.
Updated the theme for Read Write Respond from ZenPress to Autonomie.
