πŸ’¬ Public Digital Spaces

Replied to Public Digital Spaces (A Point of Contact)

Imagine a city where the only playgrounds or greenspace were those strip-mall β€œTreehouse” locations that parents rent out for kids birthday parties.

I really like your comparison with public playgrounds Glen. My wondering on the topic of ‘public spaces’ is who actually manages/moderates them? Is there a danger that if these spaces were setup and managed by the state that they would simply offer a different sort of surveillance?

I vaguly remember Greg McVerry or maybe Ian O’Byrne discussing some sort of connection between libraries and domains. However, I cannot put my finger on the link at this point in time.
